About Us

The Mountain Mercantile has been sold and is becoming Dear Heart Medicinals and Mercantile.

The new owner, Laura Mathews, is a board certified acupuncturist and herbalist who has returned to the area after 30 years of warming her bones in Austin, TX.

The Mountain Mercantile was one of her favorite shops when she was younger and she is excited about becoming the new owner. Laura will be keeping the shop as a mercantile that will continue to sell antiques, vintage items, curiosities and oddities focusing on collectibles that were commonly found in farms, homes and camps in NW PA.

She will be adding her line of herbal products made from native plants from the area as well as carrying dry goods, camping supplies and locally made items.
